The Certified Staff Trainer works directly with employees at all levels of the organization to evaluate instructional needs, deliver training programs, and assess learning progress. This role is essential in its direct impact on the quality of the experience for those served by the LISTEN Center staff. The Certified Staff Trainer helps the LISTEN Center develop a skilled, knowledgeable workforce that can meet the organization’s needs in all realms, including legal adherences. The Staff Trainer leads onboarding procedures for new employees, trains employees on new technologies, and educates teams on LISTEN Center’s corporate policies and procedures. The Certified Staff Trainer is responsible for creating dynamic and engaging workforce learning. experiences and coordinating and administering external learning modules in both in-person. and online platforms. This on-site position requires representing the LISTEN Center in a professional and productive manner. This includes being respectful to coworkers and supervisor(s), being prepared for work each day, being productive in the workplace, and attending to work-related matters while complying with deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree and two years of supervisory experience. Two years’ experience directly working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Create dynamic and engaging learning experiences for the workforce; coordinate andadminister external learning modules including online education
- Schedule trainings and retain documentation to ensure programs are delivered within the LISTEN Center and the state of North Dakota’s requirements and timeframes
- Host training sessions to present new skills or concepts to employees
- Proctor third party training programs as necessary
- Coach or mentor employees to support their learning needs
- Work closely with the state’s Development Disabilities Services Training division to identify and institute best practices to the LISTEN Center
- Evaluate material from outside vendors for potential use in the LISTEN Center
- Schedule, deliver, and continually evaluate the new employee orientation
- Have in-depth knowledge of the LISTEN Center’s policy manual; coach, train and provide feedback as necessary
- Ensure a safe environment where individuals are free from abuse and neglect
- Understand and follow the LISTEN Center's guidelines detailed in the policy manual, including protecting the rights of persons served, following all state and federal regulations, and adhering to LISTEN Center's time and attendance expectations
- A deep and thorough understanding of the LISTEN Center and the North Dakota workforce training requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to understand problems, convey ideas, and conduct training
- Creative and innovative thinking to keep trainings innovative to hold attendees’ attention, with the flexibility to improvise as needed
- Possess excellent presentation skills to deliver and navigate training programs effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint
- Well-developed administrative skills to manage training programs efficiently, including session documentation and authentication of attendance
- Possess several years of professional work experience in a related position, either professionally or through an internship
- A Bachelor’s degree in a discipline such as Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or other related field
- Employ the principles of People First and the Active Support Models as ways to engage
